the TALENT 2013
BalletBoyz offers high quality dance education and outreach activities to widen access to quality dance. Our tailor-made, repertoire-linked dance workshops provide participants with a valuable, practical insight into the artistic work.
Access to the work of BalletBoyz seeks to nurture the existing skills of participants, regardless of ability, and develop self-confidence whilst promoting a wider understanding and appreciation for dance. BalletBoyz aims to develop long term, sustainable partnerships with schools, colleges, community groups and arts organisations for longer term benefits and to expand access to BalletBoyz performances.
In addition to our dance education, BalletBoyz also offers opportunities to learn more about film and its use within a dance context.
BalletBoyz dancers are fully trained in workshop delivery and teach repertoire linked dance workshops based on the current touring production. Workshops are aimed at students studying GCSE, BTEC and A-Level Dance and Performing Arts.
We encourage schools to attend a BalletBoyz performance in connection to their workshop to see the repertoire performed live. Our workshops explore company repertoire, presenting groups with the opportunity to explore contact work and challenge their strength and balance. Workshops conclude with creative tasks so participants leave the workshop with their own movement phrase and a greater sense of achievement. A two hour workshop costs £200+vat; other activities can be tailor made and include:
