Join BalletBoyz Dance Artists, Jonathan Savage and Hannah Rudd, along with Spoken Word Artist, Dylan Hale, for an exciting FREE week of movement, creativity, and self-expression. This unique summer project is specially designed for boys aged 12–16 to explore movement and spoken word in a fun, energetic environment — no prior dance experience needed.
Connect, Communicate, Create is a collaboration between BalletBoyz and Richmond Theatre, created to help young people connect with themselves and others, build confidence, and express what words can’t — through movement, creativity, and shared experience.

Who can participate?
This project is open to boys aged 12 to 16 years. No prior dance or spoken word experience is necessary.

When and where does it take place?
The project runs from Monday 28 July to Friday 1 August 2025, with sessions held at two venues:

Monday 28 July, Tuesday 29 July, and Wednesday 30 July at BalletBoyz, 52a Canbury Park Road, Kingston, KT2 6JX

Thursday 31 July and Friday 1 August at Richmond Theatre, 1 Little Green, Richmond TW9 1QJ

Is the project free?
Yes! This is a completely free project funded by Richmond Theatre Trust. However, we ask you to commit to all five days of the project. If you're unable to make it, let us know as soon as you can, so that your place can be offered to someone else.

Do I need to bring anything?
Just wear comfortable clothing and footwear that allows you to move freely. Bring your lunch each day, and a water bottle (and lots of energy!)​

What will we be doing?
You’ll get to try out movement and spoken word through fun, creative activities led by professional dance and spoken word artists from BalletBoyz and Richmond Theatre. Each day kicks off with some ice-breakers and warm-ups — and don’t worry, you don’t need any experience at all! The project is all about expressing yourself, communicating with others through movement, getting active, having fun, and trying out new stuff!

Can I join if I’ve never danced or performed before?
Absolutely! No previous experience is required.
